Resources

I’m gonna start putting some external resources if you’re hungry to learn more about paleontology!

DK Smithsonian Handbook

This was my first ever fossil field guide and I found it to be a really useful book for those who is just starting out. It begins with a general introduction going over what fossils are, how they are formed, how the book is formatted, what a geological time scale is, and other important information. The images are high quality and is a solid reference to just have in your back pocket. Click the image if you’re interested.

Audobon

Audobon is also a well known and useful field guide for those who want to delve into fossils as well. I would recommend one of these two field guides as references. The information is solid and the pictures are of good quality! I would say that the DK book has better pictures, but the Audobon has more information. Click the image if you’re interested.
